AfterMark Counseling & Wellness | St. Petersburg, FL Therapy Services

What types of counseling services do you offer?

I offer individual counseling for adults, teens, and children, as well as support for families and couples in the St. Petersburg, FL area. My specialties include trauma therapy, anxiety and depression treatment, addiction recovery, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and life transitions. I also incorporate creative and body-based techniques to support healing for clients in Pinellas County and beyond.

Where are you located?

My office is located in central St. Petersburg, Florida, and is easily accessible from surrounding areas including Gulfport, Seminole, and South Pasadena. I provide in-person therapy in a calm, private space designed to help you feel grounded and supported.

Do you offer online therapy?

At this time, I do not offer online therapy. I’ve found that in-person sessions allow for a deeper therapeutic connection and a more embodied experience. All appointments take place at my St. Petersburg counseling office.

What does a typical therapy session look like?

Each 50-minute session is personalized to your goals and needs. You can expect a calm, nonjudgmental space where we work collaboratively. Whether you're seeking mental health therapy in St. Petersburg for trauma, anxiety, or identity exploration, I tailor each session using talk therapy, mindfulness, and creative tools.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently do not accept insurance. However, I can provide superbills if you’d like to pursue reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. I plan to begin accepting insurance for therapy services in Florida in 2026.

What are your rates? Do you offer sliding scale?

My standard rate is $75 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale therapy spots to clients in the St. Petersburg area based on financial need. Please contact me to learn more about availability.

Are you LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergent-friendly?

Yes. My practice is a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent individuals, and those navigating identity, trauma, or marginalization. I serve a diverse community throughout St. Pete, Gulfport, and surrounding Pinellas County with culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

What age groups do you work with?

I work with children (ages 8 and up), teenagers, adults, and older adults. Whether you’re looking for a therapist in St. Petersburg for your child, adolescent, or yourself, I tailor the counseling process to support each developmental stage with care and intention.

Do you integrate mindfulness in sessions?

Yes. Mindfulness is an essential part of many sessions and supports emotional regulation, self-awareness, and nervous system balance. Whether we’re focusing on breath, sensations, or grounding techniques, mindfulness is a powerful tool in your healing process.

Are you trauma-informed?

Yes, my counseling approach is trauma-informed. This means I prioritize safety, trust, and collaboration, and I understand how past trauma can shape present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work at your pace, creating a supportive space where healing can unfold without pressure or re-traumatization.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward, therapy can be a supportive and transformative space. Many clients in St. Petersburg seek therapy with me for emotional clarity, coping skills, healing from trauma, or simply to feel more connected to themselves.

What types of therapy approaches do you use?

  • Narrative therapy helps you identify and reshape the stories you hold about yourself. By exploring your experiences through this lens, you can discover new meaning, strength, and direction. I use this approach in my St. Petersburg practice to support personal empowerment and identity work.

  • ACT helps you move through difficult thoughts and emotions while staying aligned with your values. It’s an effective treatment for anxiety and depression and is frequently used in my St. Petersburg therapy sessions to help clients build resilience and clarity.

  • Gestalt therapy focuses on present-moment awareness and the mind-body connection. It helps you gain insight, resolve emotional blocks, and feel more integrated. It’s especially useful for clients who want a deeper understanding of their emotions and patterns.

  • Exposure therapy helps you safely face fears, memories, or sensations you’ve been avoiding. I use this approach to support clients dealing with anxiety, OCD, or PTSD in a structured, collaborative way that fosters long-term growth and confidence.

  • Expressive arts therapy uses creative expression—like writing, drawing, or movement—to explore emotions and experiences. It’s particularly helpful for clients in St. Pete who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy or want to access their inner world in new ways.

  • Dance therapy is a body-based form of psychotherapy that uses movement to explore emotions, process trauma, and support healing. It can help you reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, and express what words can’t always reach. You don’t need to be a dancer—just willing to move with curiosity and intention.

If interested in dance therapy, please let me know and we can discuss the logistics of location and specialities of dance therapy offered.
